Troubled Nigerians can now get help with this app

The Initiative for Equal Rights, launched ‘Quickcare’, a mobile application aimed at helping members of the LGBT community access health services in the country.

There's a 14-year prison sentence in Nigeria for homosexual acts and 10 years for Nigerians belonging to a 'gay organization', supporting same-sex marriages, or displaying same-sex affection in public.

The Nigerian government have clearly passed a message, members of the Lesbian Gay and Bisexual Transgender community in Nigeria are endangered and need protection.

So, a Nigerian human rights group, The Initiative for Equal Rights, launched ‘Quickcare’, a mobile application aimed at helping members of the LGBT community access health services in the country.

The app provides access to useful basic information about STDs, safe sex tips and a comprehensive list of LGBT-friendly facilities spread across Nigeria.

The mobile app is only available for all devices and encourages users to provide feedback after using the application to help improve the existing features of the app and suggest new features.

This comes as a welcome innovation for members of the Nigerian LGBT community, who are finding it increasingly difficult to access proper healthcare services, especially ones tailored to their needs.
