There have been speculations as to if Rohr would add another shot-stopper to his list after naming Daniel Akpeyi and Afelokhai ‘s back up at Enyimba Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
His inclusion was confirmed through a message on the official Twitter handle of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The message said, “Official: @EnyimbaFC's shot-stopper Theophilus Afelokhai replaces injured @Uzohof for @NGSuperEagles 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against @BafanaBafana of South Africa.”
Afelokhai was a key component of Enyimba’s defence as they were knocked out of CAF Confederation Cup by Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.
He is not the only player from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) that is in the team as he joins Ezenwa and FC Ifeanyi Ubah defender Adeleye Aniyikaye.
