Former Nigerian footballer, Emmanuel Amuneke, signs a 2-year contract with the Tanzania Football Federation as head coach

Amuneke's first outing for the Taifa Stars will be against Uganda on September 8, 2018.

The Tanzania national team has appointed former Nigeria international footballer, Emmanuel Amuneke, as head coach and national team consultant.

The appointment is on a two-year deal between the former Super Eagles player and Tanzania.

Amuneke's first outing for the Taifa Stars will be against Uganda on September 8, 2018, as he will work to help the team get their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign back on track.

He took over from Coach Salum Mayanga, who was sacked due to poor results.

Wallace Karia, Tanzania's football federation said, “Amuneke has already been credited to receiving the position when he was given a 2-year contract and his first game will be against Ugandan immigration.

He “has been successful in his career while playing football and also achieving success in the field of training.

Nigerian Amuneke has coached Saudi Premier League side, Al-Hazm, Ocean Boys, Julius Berger, Nigeria's U17 and U20 teams and served as an assistant coach of the Super Eagles in 2016.
