Kelechi Iheanacho: Super Eagles forward scores again for Leicester City

Kelechi Iheanacho continued his goalscoring form for Leicester City in pre-season.

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was on target for English Premier League side Leicester City against Valencia in their pre-season friendly game played on Wednesday, August 1.

Iheanacho scored the only goal of the game for Leicester City as they drew 1-1 with the Spanish La Liga outfit.

The goal was Iheancho's second since he resumed for pre-season with the Foxes, his first was in their last fixture against Serie A outfit Udinese.

Iheanacho started the encounter alongisde compatriot Wilfred Ndidi but Ahmed Musa played not part as he was on the bench for the entire duration of the game.

 

The 22-year-old forward opened the scoring for Leicester City when he latched on to a scramble by James Maddison to put the Foxes ahead in the 10th minute.

 

Valencia however cancelled out Iheanacho's opener in the first half through captain Daniel Parejo who converted a ball through to him Simone Zaza

Iheanacho could not add to his tally as he was substituted at halftime with Callum Elder while Ndidi was also replaced by Adrien Silva at the halftime mark.

The youngster took to his official Instagram account to show his delight about scoring again.

He said, "Work in progress ⚽️✅"

 

Iheanacho and his teammates will hope to maintain their good form when they take on French Ligue 1 side Losc Lille in their final pre-season game.

Iheanacho who modelled the new third kit for the Foxes is now favourite to start against Manchester United in the first Premier League fixture of the new 2018/19 season.
