Ghana to host global badminton tournament

Ghana is set to host the rest of the world in the four-day global badminton tournament from 12th to 15 July at the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA) Sports Center in Tema.

The Badminton Association of Ghana has given the assurance after intense preparations to ensure a successful tournament, saying they were ready to welcome participating teams this week.

The global tournament dubbed “JE Wilson Ghana International Series” will host at least 104 international players from over 22 countries from across the globe.

The participating countries include Nigeria, Benin, Egypt, Senegal, Togo, South Africa, Czech Republic, India, Malaysia, Belgium, Portugal and the US.

The event according to the BAG is one of the biggest on its calendar this year and hence would put in all efforts to making it successful.

Ghana is expected to parade her top stars such as Emmanuel Yaw Donkor, Abraham Ayittey, Daniel Sam, Ebenezer Andrews, Emmanuel Botwe, Grace Attipaka and Eyram Migdodzi in a bid to challenge for more laurels in the tournament.
