Ghanaian footballer, Kwame Bonsu has been freed after barely a year of incarceration
Ghanaian player Kwame Bonsu has been freed after spending barely a year in jail for sexual assault meted out on his former wife.
The former Heart of Lions midfielder was handed a prison sentence in Sweden after being found guilty of abuse and rape on former wife.

The 22-year-old popularly known as “Conte” prior to his conviction, played for second-tier side Gefle IF in Sweden after following his move from Mjallby AIF in Sweden’s third tier two seasons ago.

However, Bonsu was accused of the act which took place in 2015.
He appealed his sentence which was reduced to a year and ten months but was freed after spending just a year.
