Falconets: Ajibade, Imo, 21 others selected for 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup

The Falconets are one of Africa's representatives to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team Falconets Chris Danjuma has selected the 23-players that will represent the country at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which will take place in France.

The Falconets who progressed to the semifinals of the World Cup in 2010 and 2014 are drawn in group D alongside Haiti, China, and Germany.

The Falconets will aim to surpass their previous outing in 2016 were they failed to progress beyond the group stage of the competition.

Danjuma selected 35 players for the initial camping phase at Serob Legacy Hotel preparing for the World tournament.

In preparation to perform better than the last outing the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) camped the players in Austria.

After the camping period Danjuma has finally released his list before the deadline of submission by the World football governing body.

 

The showpiece which will take place from Sunday, 5th August till Friday, August 25 across several venues in France.

Defenders: Ogbonna Glory (DF) - Ibom Angels, Monday Gift (DF)  FC Robo, Famuditi Oluwakemi (DF) - Kogi Confluence, Duru Joy (DF) - Nasarawa Amazons, Ologbosere Mary (DF) - Ibom Angels, Sunday Opeyemi (DF) - Sunshine Queens, Ezekiel Blessing (DF) - Rivers Angels.

 

Midfielders: Saiki Mary (MF) - Rivers Angels, Ucheibe Christy (MF) - Capital City, Efih Peace (MF) - Edo Queens, Saheed Adebisi (MF) - FC Robo, Igboamalu Grace (MF) - Nasarawa Amazons, Odueke Taibat (MF) - Edo Queens.
