In "Entitled," Adeyemi Michael captures what it means to be a first generation immigrant in Peckham.

British-Nigerian filmmaker, Adeyemi Michael, has released the short film "Entitled," which first caught attention with its remarkable poster of a woman (his mother) dressed in a traditional Yoruba outfit and riding a horse in the middle of a street.

Official synopsis

What does the immigrant fantasy feel like? Adeyemi Michael reimagines his mother’s idea of moving from Nigeria to Peckham in Entitled, a short film about leaving your country of origin.

Riding a horse dressed in traditional Yoruba ceremonial wear, Abosede Afolashade, a first generation immigrant, takes to the streets of Peckham.

 

Produced by Fiona Lamptey, "Entitled" is directed by Michael, a Grierson award-winning filmmaker who is currently working on a feature documentary.
