Ndidi has been impressive for Leicester City this season which has seen him ranked as one of the most valuable players in the world.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has reportedly turned down a move to Spanish giants Barcelona.
Ndidi who is currently in Marbella, Spain with his Leicester teammates has been linked with a move to Barcelona following his impressive performances for the English side this season.
According to a report by AllsoccerNigeria, Ndidi’s representatives have dismissed any rumour linking the Nigerian international with a summer move away from the King Power Stadium.
‘’Ndidi is not leaving Leicester City, the interest from Barcelona is news to us, there has been no contact. They want to build the team around him,’’ a top source said in the report.
The report states that Ndidi who has been a top performer for Leicester is expected to stay after the 2018 FIFA World Cup as the club intends to win the Premier League in the coming seasons.
"The management of Leicester City believe in him, they want to do everything possible to make the club bigger."
"They have won the Premier League before and want to win it again, that's why Riyad Mahrez was not sold in January." the source said
The former Genk midfielder was among the 28 players invited by Gernot Rohr for the friendlies against Poland and Serbia.
Ndidi’s performances this season has seen him ranked among the most valuable players in the world as well as a Player of the Year nomination at the NFF Awards.
The 21-year-old should return to action when Leicester face Chelsea on Sunday, March 18 in their FA Cup quarter final fixture.
