Super Eagles: Rohr recalls Ideye, Obi for Poland, Serbia friendlies

Ideye and Obi are set to be rewarded for their fine form with the Club sides.

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has recalled Malaga Forward Brown Ideye and Torino midfielder Joel Obi.

Rohr is set to unveil his finalist list for the upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Serbia on March 7.

However, a Complete Sports report has confirmed the return of Ideye and Obi to the Super Eagles squad.

According to the report, Ideye and Obi will replace Aberdeen’s Chidebere Nwakali and Anthony Nwakaeme of Hapoel Beer-Sheva, who were called for the last games against Algeria and Argentina.

Ideye’s who recently joined Malaga of Spain has been playing regularly and was recently voted man of the match in a league encounter.

Obi’s return to the Super Eagles will come after he last featured for the Eagles in 2015, but he has been in fine form for Italian side Torino.

Ideye is expected to make his first appearance for the Super Eagles since he featured in the opening match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zambia.

 

The report also reveals that Odion Ighalo, Elderson Echiejile, Mikel Agu and Ogenyi Onazi who all missed the last Eagles matches have earned recalls.

Pulse Sports earlier reported that Las Palmas midfielder Oghenkaro Etebo has been confirmed by his club for the Friendly matches.

While the duo of Chidozie Awaziem and John Ogu took to social media to celebrate the call up to the Eagles team.

The invited players are expected to arrive camp for the friendlies on Monday, March 19.

The Super Eagles will face Poland on Friday, March 23 and on Tuesday, March 27 take on Serbia.
