After the gastric bypass op, Jana went home but suffered from back pain at her birthday party and within weeks had fallen into a coma as medics battled to save her life.
The young woman from Belgium is reportedly scheduled her surgery on October 17, just in time before she was set to choose her wedding dress for her upcoming wedding to her fiancee.
She is said to have left the hospital two days after the surgery.
Her parents Christelle and Laurent said: "It was during that night that she began to have back pain.
"We thought she just had taken it a bit too far with drinking. She took a Dafalgan (paracetamol)."
But two weeks later, she felt severe discomfort during her birthday party and was rushed to hospital on November 8 as the pain grew worse.

Multiple tests carried on her did not detect anything.
Her health deteriorated quickly, falling into coma due to liver failure.
She went into surgery again for a transplant but the transplanted liver was rejected by her body.
Mum Christelle said: "Four days later the doctors also noticed a leak to the attachment of the gastric bypass which inflamed her abdominal cavity. Jana underwent a heavy surgery.
According the Mirror, for her heartbroken parents it was a hard moment as that day - last Saturday - was supposed to be the day Jana chose her wedding dress.
"On 23rd November Jana got for the second time a new liver. Her body was however so weakened that she did not survive the surgery.
Christelle said: "On 29th June she would marry. Everything was already arranged. She only needed to choose her dress.
"Yet instead of choosing her wedding dress, we stood that day at her deathbed."

Jana's dad, Laurent said he felt the need to share his daughter's story to the world to warn people before undergoing a cosmetic surgery for which there was no medical need.
He said: "It does not make sense to look for a culprit, we will never know what really happened and Jana will not come back. But we want people to think twice or even three times before they have surgery. Accept yourself the way you are and do not let society influence you."
