The South African's are talking tough ahead of the their clash against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Former South African goalkeeping coach Alexandro Heredia has stated that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are scared of the Bafana Bafana strikers ahead of the two countries meeting in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash.
The two countries met in opening group E game with the South African’s recording a 2-0 win at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in 2017.
Both sides are set to meet in the fifth group game which will be crucial to their chances of progressing to the tournament scheduled for Cameroon in 2019.
Heredia on Super Eagles
In a report by Goal, Heredia revealed that after the victory in Uyo, the Nigerian defence will be more cautious in their approach against the South African attack.
He said, “Look, the hoodoo has been broken because we beat Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo, and that was a comfortable scoreline. I think they need to take their chances now to ensure that they get another win.
“It is not going to be easy because we need to qualify and there is pressure, but I must say they need to play their normal game because qualifying is a must.”
Super Eagles scared
Despite the Super Eagles now top of the group, the former coach stated that his team have the best attack on the continent with the 23 players invited for the clash capable of getting a victory.
“I am confident that we can beat Nigeria again because we have the best strike force in Africa. There is Lebo Mothiba, Dino Ndlovu, Percy Tau and Themba Zwane.
“I am sure they are scared of our strikers because we have one of the most talked about hot potatoes in Europe and that is Mothiba.
“Although we will work hard against Nigeria, we will still need the luck to score goals because they are not a small country in Africa.
"They are the best in Africa, but Bafana can beat them. We showed in Uyo that they are beatable and we just have to respect them and do the job.
South Africa have reduced tickets for the clash against Nigeria scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 17.
