Spirituality: How to make time for God despite busy schedule

Discover three easy and practical ways to make room for God in your busy life.

Make time for God in spite of your busy schedule might seem impossible but trust me, it isn't. Here are three easy ways to achieve this seemingly unattainable feat:

Make Him a priority

So many of us have busy lives but somehow we still manage to carve out time to call our boyfriends, girlfriends, spouses, workout, even TV shows. Why? Because these things are extremely important to us, so important that even our busyness is unable to stop us from doing them. The reality is that we make time for what is important to us, so if you say God is really important then you have to make Him a priority. Once this decision is made, it becomes really easy to do the following.

Set a date

We all set dates for when to see our loved ones, go to our favorite restaurants so why not do the same thing with God. Pick a certain part of the day - morning, afternoon, evening - whatever works for you. To make it a real date in the sense of the word, you can also choose a particular part of your bedroom, parlor, house or office specifically for spending time with God. Once you decide, make sure you stick to it.

Have a Bible plan

Knowing exactly what you are going to do leaves you with more time to spend with God. You can also take advantage of apps like YouVersion that offers numerous plans for different seasons for your life. It doesn't hurt to be flexible too. You can always rely on God's direction on what to read.

The truth is that a busy schedule is no excuse when it comes to making time for God. Ultimately, it comes down to how much you want Him.
