Girl Smarts: Jenna Jameson says her 60-pound weight loss almost never happened

Jenna Jameson opens up about the tough 'mental aspect' of losing weight

"I think one aspect of fear that we all trip over is fear of failure," the mom of three wrote on Instagram. "This was the major component in my procrastination on getting healthy after having Batel [her daughter]

Jenna Jameson is dishing out more honesty about her weight-loss transformation on the keto diet. This time she's talking fear of failure-something that's completely relatable to, well, everyone.

"I think one aspect of fear that we all trip over is fear of failure," the mom of three wrote on Instagram. "This was the major component in my procrastination on getting healthy after having Batel [her daughter]. I kept trying to convince myself I was ok with my 'new' size. I wasn’t."

Jenna continued: "It really was fear of failing. I was so afraid I couldn’t reach my goals like I was so accustomed to, I just told myself 'why bother?'"

To which all of her followers nodded a collective "mmhm," some of them even weighing in to share their own experiences, opening up about their own weight-loss journeys following pregnancy, among other things.

Jenna also shared what led to her initial weight gain in the post-the triggering factor: getting sober. "I conquered sobriety, but that came with a whole set of new issues... actually FEELING my feelings," Jenna wrote, adding that she comforted those feelings with food.

Along with getting sober, Jenna gained weight while doing in vitro fertilization (IVF) to get pregnant with her daughter. "The cocktail of hormones pushed me up to 160," she wrote. Breastfeeding her daughter after giving birth didn't necessarily result in huge weight loss either: "I dropped to 187 and stayed there," she added

Of course, Jenna clearly, finally lost the weight-more than 60 pounds on the keto diet and intermittent fasting-but it was that constant fear of failure and procrastination that held her back at first, according to her Instagram post.

And in her usual fashion, she offered a few words of encouragement to her followers: "So to finish up this long ass post, just know it’s normal to fear failing at losing your weight... but if you don’t try, you’ll never know the utter triumph when you do achieve your goals"
