Omotola Jalade, Isoken, Odunlade win big at AMVCAs 2018

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, 'Isoken', Odunlade Adekola and 'Tatu' are some of the big winners at AMVCAs 2018.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Odunlade Adekola were two of the biggest winners at the just concluded AMVCAs while Jade Osiberu's Isoken was one of the biggest films of the night.

The Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards held at the Eko Convention Centre situated inside the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos on September 1, 2018.

Omotola, Odunlade and movies like 'Tatu' and 'Isoken' gave Nollywood the needed voice at the movie awards ceremony, which saw a Kenyan movie winning the Overall Best movie of the year, 18 Hours.

 

In the same vein, a Ghanaian actor, Adjetey Anang won the award for the Best Actor in a drama or TV series for his role in the movie, Keteke.

Nyce Wanueri from Kenya also emerged the best Actress in a comedy and TV series for her role in the movie, Auntie Boss .

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is Best Actress

 

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has joined Rita Dominic as recipients of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award for Best Actress in a drama.

Omotola won the best actress at the 2018 AMVCAs for her role in "Alter Ego."

The actress beat Agaba Joan - The Torture; Keira Hewatch - The Witness Box; Miriam Kayode - Children of Mud; Cinderella Sanyu - Bella; and Lilian Echelon - Black Rose.

18 Hours wins Best Overall Movie

 

18 Hours, the Kenyan movie with five nominations came out tops winning the Best Overall Movie. The movie also won two other categories namely the Best movie in East Africa and Best Picture Editor.

18 Hours beat Potato Potahto - Shirley Frimpong-Manso; Alter Ego - Moses Inwang; Devil's Chest - Hassan Mageye; Descent - Awal Abdulfatai; and The Road to Sunrise - Shemu Joyah to become the movie of the year.

Lydia Forson wins Best Supporting Actress

Lydia Forson is the Best Supporting Actress for the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.

 

The actress received the award at the 2018 AMVCAs, which held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria.

Falz wins Best Supporting Actor

 

For his role in the movie, New Money, Falz has won the best supporting actor at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award.

The actor beat Saidi Balogun - Banana Island Ghost; Tomiwa Edun - Banana Island Ghost; Kunle Idowu - Idahosa Trails; Gabriel Afolayan - Okafor's Law and Wale Ojo - Betrayal.

Odunlade Adekola emerges Best Actor in a comedy

 

Odunlade Adekola has won the Best Actor in a Comedy at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

With his role in A Million Baby, the actor defeated Kalu Ikeagwu- Dr Meekam; IK Ogbonna - Excess Luggage; Blossom Chukwujekwu - The Big Fat Lie; OC Ukeje - Potato Potahto; and Jimmy Olukoya - Guy Man.

Bisola Aiyeola wins Trail Blazer award

 

Bisola Aiyeola is 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award Trailblazer.

The actress cum singer received the award at the 2018 AMVCAs, which held on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Nigeria.

Bisola received the award after a soulful music performance at the awards ceremony to pay tribute to late movie practitioners across the continent who passed away in 2018.
