Tyronne Ebuehi: Super Eagles full-back says long-term injury will make him 'mentally and physically stronger'

Tyronne Ebuehi is postive and looking forward to a successful return from a devastating injury.

Super Eagles full-back Tyronne Ebuehi has stated that his long-term injury will make him return 'mentally and physically stronger'.

The 22-year-old full-back suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in an International Champions Cup (ICC) pre-season fixture between Benfica and Juventus on Saturday, July 28

Colleagues and supporters of the Super Eagles have been left disappointed with the latest set back to his promising career.

Ebuehi has finally come out to give his verdict as he took to his official Instagram handle to post an emotional message on the state of the injury.

He revealed that he will be out for a long time, but also expressed optimism that his latest set back will make him bounce back stronger.

The post read, “After every disappointment, there will be a blessing.

“It’s still hard to realise what happened a few days ago and to not be able to play the game for a long time, but I have to accept it and move on.

"God always has a plan and this will make me mentally and physically stronger. I want to thank everyone for all the messages and prayers! I really appreciate it.”

Ebuehi has warm himself into the heart of football-loving Nigerians after his displays in the seven appearances he has made for the Super Eagles.

He only managed to play 45 minutes in the 2018 FIFA World Cup group D encounter but impressed with his speed and directness in the fullback position.

He is certain to miss the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Seychelles and Libya in September and October.

Ebuehi signed a five-year deal at Portuguese outfit Benfica, before the World Cup.
