Shehu Abdullahi may miss the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Seychelles due to a minor injury.
Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi is reportedly injured and could miss the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Seychelles.
Reports from Turkey state that the Super Eagles defender sustained a minor injury which requires him to be out of action for a minimum of 10 days.
Shehu who was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup is yet to make any comments about the injury and there has been no official confirmation from Bursaspor about the duration of the injury as at the time of this report.
However, in a report by Naijafootball plus, the Super Eagles defender will miss Bursaspor’s first game of the season in the league against Fernanbache on Saturday, August 11.
The reports states, “Shehu was rested for two days for him to undergo a scan, the doctor has now confirmed he will be out for 10 days.
“It’s a minor knock and the team doctor has advised him to rest, he will miss the first league game against Fenerbache. He is expected back to full fitness before the second league game.”
His injury will not be good news to Super Eagles Technical adviser Gernot Rohr who will have to do without full-back Tyronne Ebuehi who is ruled out with a long-term injury suffered on duty with Benfica.
The game between Nigeria and Seychelles is scheduled for the weekend Friday to Sunday, 7-9 September.
Shehu moved to Turkey Super Lig side Bursaspor in the winter transfer window.
