Sergio Ramos has hit back at Jurgen Klopp's criticism about Salah's injury in the Champions League final.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has replied Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after he again talked about the injury incident in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League final.

Real Madrid emerged champions of Europe after they beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final which was their third consecutive title.

In the encounter, Ramos fouled Liverpool star player Mohamed Salah which eventually forced the forward out of the encounter in the first half.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Klopp referred to the injury incident to Salah as 'ruthless and brutal' in an uncomplimentary fashion.

Aside the injury that ruled Salah out of Egypt's opening game at the 2018 FIFA World Cup the Madrid skipper has also been accused of causing a concussion in the final for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Europa League winners Atletico Madrid, Ramos replied the remarks of the Liverpool boss.

He stated that he has been a professional defender operating at the highest levels of football for the best of a decade which he cannot ascertain if Klopp has been the best at his job and should stop finding excuses for the defeat which is long gone.

He said, "It's not the first final he's lost, (maybe) he wants to use that as an excuse for losing.

"Some of us have been operating at a very high level for many years, not sure he can say the same.

"Klopp's words? There have been many repercussions after what happened to Salah in the Champions League final. Let Klopp worry about his own players."

Ramos also stated that he included Klopp among the coaches he voted for in the FIFA Best Football Awards.

“To keep him quiet, he's one of the coaches I voted for him as the Best of the Year.”

Sergio Ramos and his Real Madrid teammates will aim to win their third consecutive UEFA Super Cup against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, August 15.
