Daniel Amartey sets infamous record on opening Premier League day

The Ghanaian had a bad day in office as he gave away a penalty and also became the first player to be booked.

Daniel Amartey has set an infamous record in the 2018-19 Premier League by emerging as the first player to give away a penalty, the first player to be shown the yellow card and the first to be substituted.

The Ghanaian defender’s hand had a touch of the ball with just three minutes into the start of the game and Paul Pogba struck the first goal of the season from the resultant free kick.

And after the break Amartey was in the news again for the wrong reason when he was shown the yellow card for fouling a Man United player in the 56th

Before Luke Shaw made it 2-0 in the 83 minute, but Jamie Vardy who came on in the second half scored the consolation goal for the Foxes in the 90 minute.
