Candidates who selected any of the courses in the just concluded UTME are urged to change their course or institution.
The National University Commission (NUC) has reportedly suspended four courses at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
The four courses according to the Cable are: Law, Dentistry, Medical Rehabilitation, and Botany programmes.
However, prospective students who selected any of the disaccredited courses in the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been advised to change their course or institution.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has, therefore, sent a message to affected candidates to inform them of the changes.
The message reads; “Your first choice course did not receive accreditation. Login to your profile and change course/institutions”.
It was reported that this is not the first time Law as a course would be disaccredited at Obafemi Awolowo University. According to the Cable, the university's law faculty was previously withdrawn in 2006.

The Cable also reports that Botany never got full accreditation since its inception as a course of study at the university.
Meanwhile, the university's public relations officer, Abiodun Olarenwaju has reportedly confirmed the development, saying the withdrawal of accreditation will be sorted out by September.
OAU is the best university in South-West
However, OAU recently emerged as the best university in South-West Nigeria.
The University won the award at South-West Nigeria Education Awards, organised by Excellent Media Group and held at the University of Ibadan.
Also, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, OAU, Prof Durotoluwa Oyedele, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Fasina; and Dr Tomi Alade of the University of Lagos all emerged as the best lecturers in the region.
