Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid up for history in UEFA Super

This is the first UEFA Super Cup between clubs from the same city.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be facing each other in the first ever UEFA Super Cup clash between sides from the same City.

The two Madrid giants made history in 2014 when they became the first two clubs from the same city to take on each other in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

This term they have extended their rivalry to the UEFA Super Cup, after Real Madrid clinched the UEFA Europa League last season, while their closest neigbours reigned supreme in the UEFA Europa League.

The Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn, Estonia, will be the venue for this year's showpiece on Wednesday 15 August, 2018.

New Real Madrid head coach Julen Lopetegui says he is comfortable with the expectation that Spanish giants win every trophy they contest.

"There is not more pressure because it is against Atletico Madrid, it is a final and a trophy which means that we will give everything, we are obliged to win everything," he said.

"The club gives us what we need so that we can do our work in the best manner and so we are privileged because of this.

"We will try to be a good team, make the most of what we have collectively and individually for the collective good.

"We will have a clear style, defined which makes the most of the individuals that we have."
