Kwadwo Asamoah to replace Gyan as Black Stars skipper

The Inter Milan midfielder is on the verge being handed the Black Stars captaincy according to wide spread reports

Kwadwo Asamoah has been tipped to be named as the next captain of the senior national football team of Ghana, according to reports making rounds in the media.

It is explained that Asamoah Gyan who has been battling with fitness and for that matter get fewer playing time at Kayserispor has been left out of the Black Stars game against Kenya and Kwadwo Asamoah who has been given a call-up for the tie is set to replace the former as the skipper of the team, according to Ghanasoccernet.com.

The reports further indicates that coach Kwesi Appiah has made up his mind to appoint Kwadwo Asamoah as the next Black Stars skipper, after his return to the team.

It would be recalled Asamoah who joined Inter Milan from Juventus took a four year break absence from national team football due to injury worries and club football commitment in his quest to secure a place in the Bianconeri set up

Aside Asamoah Gyan, his deputy skipper Andre Ayew and his junior brother Jordan Ayew have also been excluded from Ghana’s game against Kenya in September.
