The Falconets players are talking tough ahead of the quarter-final clash against Spain.
Falconets have stated their readiness for the quarter-final clash against Spain in the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Falconets star Peace Efih has stated that she and her teammates will be ready against Spain when both sides meet in the quarterfinal.
The Falconets were defeated in their opener against Germany, beat Haiti 1-0 in their second group fixture.
Chinese right back Jiaxing Dou scored a late own goal as the Falconets picked up a point in their last group encounter to set up a quarterfinal fixture against Spain who finished top of the group C.
Efih, however, is optimistic that the Falconets have turned a corner and will be ready for their European counterparts.
Speaking about the last group encounter Efih praised the efforts of her teammates for believing until their last-minute goal in an interview with FIFA.
She said, “The match was very important and we wanted to win the match.
“We wanted to make sure we went through, that’s why we fought to the end. In the second half, we just had to push and keep the spirit of the team moving. It’s all about winning, it’s all about fighting to the end.”
Speaking about the upcoming quarterfinal clash against Spain Efih stated that the game will be difficult but her and her teammates will be ready to contest.
She said, “The quarter-finals won’t be easy, but we will fight to the finish.
“We believe in putting out our best every time. With our togetherness, we believe we will get somewhere.”

The Falconets of Nigeria take on Spain on Thursday, August 16 at 4PM Nigerian time, with the winners to feature in the semi-final against France or Japan.
