Again, VC asks Linda to help on sex scandal to protect UNILAG image

UNILAG VC urges Linda Ikeji to produce the student who accused English lecturer of sexual harassment if she truly cares about her alma mater.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe has again asked Linda Ikeji to assist the university's investigative committee on the sexual harassment allegation involving Professor Olusegun Awonusi of the English Department.

The VC asked the mediapreneur to help the University of Lagos to produce the student who accused the lecturer of sexual harassment if she truly cares about the image of the university she graduated from.

In May 2018, Linda Ikeji Blog published the sexual allegation of a student, Joy Nwanna accussing Prof Awonusi of sexually harassing her in his office.

The student also released some nude pictures of the lecturer which were published on Linda Ikeji Blog.

Meanwhile, in a bid to investigate the sexual allegation, UNILAG management had earlier appealed to Linda Ikeji to help the institution in its investigative efforts since Nwana has not come out to defend her case.

The VC says the allegation has subjected UNILAG to public ridicule adding that staff and members of the university community were embarrassed by the development.

Ogundipe also said the presence of the accuser is needed to help the fact-finding panel to investigate the allegation.
