UNIABUJA is holding the first edition of campus Karate competition in Nigeria.
The University of Abuja is ready to host the first Nigerian Universities Karate Championship.
The championship according to Daily Trust will start from July 27 to July 29 at the University Main Campus.
400 athletes from 37 universities across the nation are going to participate in the maiden edition of the championship.
Speaking during a press conference, the President of Nigerian University Karate Association, Mustapha Mohammed said the championship is aimed at providing a new kind of leadership for the youths in collaboration with the Japan embassy and the Karate Federation.

Prof Edmund Nwana, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) while speaking at the conference appreciated the motive behind the championship.
He said the championship will help to promote the physical, emotional well-being of the students which will go beyond the shores of the school.
