Where you die, as an adventurer, matters, so try not to die in any of these countries.
As a tourist, there are a few morbid factors to consider, such as where to die. Check out the worst countries to die in — Nigeria is one of them.
According to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), some places are worse than others when it comes to the quality of death. The EIU's quality of death index measures different factors across five key categories — palliative and health-care environment, human resources, affordability of care, quality of care and community engagement.
According to the report, the U.K is the best area for quality of death care.
These other countries did not fare so well in the research done on a sample of 80 countries.
71. China
72. Botswana
73. Iran
74. Guatemala
75. Dominican Republic
76. Myanmar
77. Nigeria
78. Philippines
79. Bangladesh
80. Iraq
Nigeria ranked a whooping 4th in bottom four! Factors for low ranking might include lack of funding, lack of infrastructure, rapidly aging population groups, and lack of qualified medical staff. Though none of these countries are on the list of most dangerous places on earth, hospice care is still important for emergencies.
Hopefully, Nigeria, as well as other countries on this list, can do better when it comes to care for both locals and tourists.
