Mr India apologizes to Ghanaians as he withdraws Gollywood

Mr India has denied all accusations of renaming the sector without consultation of others.

President of the Film Directors Guild of Ghana(FDGG), Richard Boateng popularly known as Mr India has rendered an apology to Ghanaians and all stakeholders of the movie industry.

His regrets came after movie critics attacked him for changing the name of the Ghana movie industry without consulting the various stakeholders of the sector.

Mr India took to Zylofon FM to withdraw the name and ask for forgiveness from all Ghanaians.

“I apologise to all stakeholders of the movie industry who have been offended or disrespected by the unveiling of the name Gollywood at the summit. If the people do not accept it, so be it. We have dropped the name”

However, Mr India has denied all accusations of renaming the sector without consultation of others.

According to him, the agenda has been under discussion since the beginning of the year.

He stated that no one objected to the new name at the summit where Gollywood was unveiled, hence, he is surprised at the backlash that followed after the decision was made.
