A Kenyan beauty queen has been sentenced to death by a Kenyan high court for murdering her boyfriend by stabbing him 22 times.
24-year-old Ruth Kamande, who was crowned Miss Lang’ata Prison beauty pageant in 2016, was sentenced to death by High Court judge Jessie Lesiit after being found guilty of stabbing her boyfriend Farid Mohammed 22 times.
"I want the youth to know it is not cool to kill your boyfriends or girlfriends. Instead, it is cool to walk away and forget," Judge Lesiit said in her ruling.
Kamande, however, is not alone on list of deadly women who in the middle of heated quarrel have taken law unto their hands and murdered their partners sometimes with an innocent household item which was used to prepare supper just hours before.

Monica Wangui
In March 2018, Monica Wangui was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her husband to death following a quarrel at their home in Umoja Estate, Kiambu on Friday night.
Wangui allegedly stabbed Bernard Kinuga whom they have three children together and later called her father in law and claimed her husband had stabbed himself.
Kiania found Kinuga’s body on the sofa with the knife still lodged his chest.
Dorcas Waigwe
25-year-old Dorcas Waigwe was last month arrested on allegations she stabbed her husband to death in Kangema sub-county, Murang’a county.
Waigwe is said to have killed Julius Njuguna, 25, at their home in Gacharaigu village during a domestic squabble.
Njuguna died while receiving treatment at Murang’a General hospital where he was rushed.
Fatuma Mohamed Okoth
24 year-old Fatuma Mohamed Okoth was arrested in February 2017 after she stabbed her boyfriend to death at their house in South-B after a quarrel.
Police reports indicate that the deceased, 25 year-old Flogent Mwakamba, had picked a quarrel with his girlfriend while in his house on Sore Drive.
Fatuma then picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the deceased on the chest killing him instantly.
Sheila Wanjiku
Kenyan businesswoman based in the United States, Sheila Wanjiku was sentenced to death in August 2017 after the trial court found her guilty of shooting and killing her husband, Leonard Kibinge on April 15, 2014 at Gitaru village, Kikuyu constituency.
Grace Watiri Kibandi
Grace Watiri Kibandi was charged with manslaughter early this year after she pleaded guilty to stabbing her husband to death following a domestic quarrel.
