Mick Schumacher: Son of Formula One legend wins first race

Mick Schumacher is following the footsteps of his legendary father Michael.

Mick the son of racing legend Michael Schumacher won his first Formula 3 race on Sunday, July 29.

The 19-year-old Mick won his first Formula 3 race at Spa coincidentally that is where his father first won his Formula 1 race in 1991.

Mick’s father has not been in the public eye since he suffered a nasty accident with severe injuries.

 

Speaking to German media outlet Sueddeutsche Zeitung after his victory, Mick stated that the circuit at Spa is a good one for the Family.

He said, “It seems Spa is a good place for the Schumacher family.

“I'm so happy about this victory, the only thing I can say is goosebumps.”

He had to win the race from a starting position of sixth but came out victorious in a spectacular way.

 

Mick who is on the books of Mercedes also started that his that who was a former champion kept him believing that he will eventually win after multiple disappointments in previous races and suggests that more victories can be expected from here on.

He said, “I do believe that I have that in my genes.”

Mick will hope to make the grade to the Formula One with the season hotting up with Lewis Hamilton leading the race.
