Dog named ‘Lucifer’ rescues owner from burning house

Larry Moore was asleep on his living room chair when his home in Hutchinson, Kansas started blazing. Unfortunately, the fire detectors were not functional.

Had it not been for the smartness of a dog named 'Lucifer', its owner would have died when fire unexpectedly broke out in his residence at night when he was fast asleep.

A report by UPI.com indicated that Larry Moore was asleep on his living room chair when his home in Hutchinson, Kansas started blazing.

However, the fire detectors were reportedly not functional, so he could notice the danger.

How exactly did 'Lucifer' save its owner? Larry Moore is quoted as having told KWCH-TV that the dog "jumped up in my lap, jumped in my lap and woke me up.”

He added that: “I turned around and the house was on fire. I don't think I wouldn't have made it, to be honest, because it just happened so fast."

He quickly woke up and picked all his other dogs and some personal belongings out of the house, but suffered smoke inhalation.

Hutchison Fire Department is reported to have attributed the cause of the fire to faulty wiring and "improper extension cords."
