In the photo, below, the 40-year-old NFL player appears relaxed as he shares a kiss with Bündchen.
On Twitter, some users made jokes about Brady's "out of shape" physique and called him out for writing a book about nutrition. Others said it was relatable.
In September, Brady released The TB12 Method, in which he shared details on the strict anti-inflammatory diet he follows. “The regimen I follow is a mix of Eastern and Western philosophies," he wrote. "Some of these principles have been around for thousands of years. My nutritional regimen may seem restrictive to some people, but to me it feels unnatural to eat any other way." (Here he is taking the bold step of eating a strawberry for the very first time.)
Brady has not commented on the shirtless photo, but several Patriots fans have come to his defense. One user pointed out how other sports teams' fans can't criticize the five-time Super Bowl champ because he continues to outperform most of their athletes.
"If you think that’s not up to par for the nfl body, shouldn’t you be embarrassed he dismantles your team every week," the user wrote.
