Glazed Doughnuts: Twitter is tired of Krispy Kreme's Sugar Donuts

Twitter reacts to Krispy Kreme's Sugar Donuts

See what Krispy Kreme has to say about the recent twitter comments about its glazed doughnuts.

Most people would think a doughnut that melts in your mouth is a good thing, but Twitter is having none of that.

Krispy Kreme is an American doughnut and coffeehouse franchise with branches in 33 countries all over the world. In March 2018, the 34th franchise was launched in Lagos, Nigeria with a huge campaign to give free doughnuts to a whole bunch of Lagosians.

The most unique feature about Krispy Kreme is their original glazed doughnuts. The doughnuts are glazed with different coatings such as icing sugar, sprinkles, chocolate, nuts and lots more. They look so good and tempting — it is no wonder it garnered a lot of attention from Nigerians before and after its launch — but as the saying goes, "not all that glitters is gold." Literally.

Months down the line, a cheeky tweet, from a user popularly known as Mogwai or TheVunderkind, read:

"One day, I will bite into a Krispy Kreme donut and taste the donut in the middle of the sugar. At BankPHB, we're already thinking like that."

The tweet sparked similar responses from other twitter users and an incredibly shady reply from the Krispy Kreme account itself. The threatening tweet simply said, "Don't come to the Island."

It was later deleted from the Krispy Kreme account but not without a screen shot was taken.

Other responses from users include:

What do you think about the Krispy Kreme doughnuts?
