‘I’m Sassuolo’s Ronaldo’ – KP Boateng ready for Serie A

Boateng is also looking forward to playing against Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus from Real Madrid earlier this month.

Ghana attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng has declared his readiness to take the Italian Serie A by storm, insisting he is “maybe” Sassuolo’s own Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 31-year-old completed a move to Sassuolo this summer, having had a fruitful one-year stint with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

The former AC Milan star is charged ahead of the Serie A season and has already netted five goals in just two pre-season games for his new club.

Boateng is also looking forward to playing against Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus from Real Madrid earlier this month.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner joined the Bianconeri in a deal reportedly worth £105 million to raise stakes in the Italian topflight.

Boateng insists he could be Sassuolo’s very own Ronaldo, but says he wants to beat the former Real Madrid superstar when the season begins.

"Am I the Cristiano Ronaldo of Sassuolo? Maybe yes, but I'm 500 goals away," he told Sky Sports Italia.

"I'd like to beat him, but first you have to beat Juventus and they have some other very good players.

"Besides, I can't do it all alone. I need the help of my teammates, I can't fight anyone by himself.

"His arrival proves that Serie A is very important, the best player in the world has arrived here and we can only enjoy his 'landing' because he'll show us things we've never seen in Italy."

Boateng previosuly squared off with Ronaldo in the Spanish La liga during his time at Las Palmas.
