Ghana To The World: Napo receives Kalam Smriti Int’l Excellence Award for Akufo-Addo

The award ceremony is in honour of the memory of Dr Kalam Smitri, a man of great vision, whose passion was that India should become a sustainable economy through pragmatic, home-grown policy initiatives.

President Akufo-Addo has been given the Dr Kalam Smriti International Excellence Award.

The award was received on his behalf by the Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, at a colourful ceremony at the Dr Smitri International Dale View Campus in Punalal, India.

 

In a speech after receiving the award on President Akufo-Addo’s behalf, Dr Opoku Prempeh said the that he was grateful for the recognition. He added that the President believes that Ghana can be built with the talents and abilities of its citizens in order to ensure sustainable development.

“Ghana is a country blessed with abundant natural resources and amazing human capital, and with determined, selfless and committed leadership, she can once again become an important economic beacon and thereby wean itself off foreign aid.”

He also mentioned some of the successes of the NPP government since they took office in 2017.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries including Members of Parliament, philanthropists, and Ministers of State.
