Ghana Football Awards: Thomas Partey crowned best player at maiden awards gala

Thomas beat off competition from Jordan Ayew and Albert Adomah to win footballer of the year award

Thomas has been crowned the best footballer at the maiden Ghana Football Awards gala held on Sunday at the Marriot Hotel in Accra.

The Atletico Madrid attacking midfielder beat off competition from Albert Adomah and Jordan Ayew, who had good seasons with Aston Villa in the English Championship and the English Premier League, respectively.

 

Thomas Partey had a sterling season with Atletico Madrid, helping them finish second in the La Liga  and crowned it with UEFA Europa League triumph when the Madrid side defeated Marseille in the grand finale.
