Gyan worked with the Croatia boss during his time at Al Ain, with the pair enjoying considerable success together.

Coach of the Croatia national team, Zlatko Dalic, was once the manager of Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan during his time in the UAE Pro League.

Dalic has risen to prominence in recent weeks after sensationally guiding Croatia to the final of the 2018 World Cup.

The 51-year-old nearly led his nation to their first ever trophy, before the Blazers ultimately lost 4-2 to winner France in the final.

Gyan worked with the Croatia boss during his time at Al Ain, with the pair enjoying considerable success together.

Under Dalic, the Kayserispor striker won the UAE Pro League and other domestic trophies, as well as reaching the semi-final of the Asian Champions League.

The Ghana international was one of the first persons to congratulate Dalic despite Croatia’s loss in the World Cup final.

In a Twitter post, Gyan wrote: “Congratulations coach Dalic Zlatko for taking your country Croatia to the World Cup Final second place. I have always believed you would be a great coach one day. I'm happy to have worked with a great person like you.”

Gyan played for Al Ain between 2012 and 2015. Dalic, on the other hand, managed the side between 2014 and 2017.
