The Dare2Dream tour never disappoints and the show always gets better. As exciting as Day 1 had been. There was more excitement in store for Days 2 and 3.
Sponsors, Golden Penny delivered the first thrill of the day by hosting a cooking competition. As a brand committed to meeting the nutritional needs of people, they gave the students a chance to integrate nutrition and culinary creativity. There was delicious food and there were winners as well as prizes.
That was just the beginning. Led by Legendary Suni and the Official Steevane, the Uniport influencers held a rally at the International Student Centre to inform the students about the tour. The students were entertained, intrigued and they turned up to get more from where this came from.
They were not disappointed. In addition to the fun, there was free quality education too. The Class of Dreamers delivered informative and empowering trainings. Google trained on #Google Digital Skills while the Head, Youth Segment FCMB gave a masterclass on content creation.
The well attended masterclasses was also laced with fun. There was an exciting raffle draw and the lucky participants won prizes.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange was also present to enlighten the youths about SMEs and students’ involvement in trading on the stock exchange. They pointed out the importance of recycling and commended one of the fashion design contestants who used recycled materials in his design.
The talents contested passionately but like every good competition, some performances stood out. Magician Felven Brain stunned the audience with his original performance while Rachel Godwin who serenaded the audience with her beautiful music. “She gave me goosebumps” a student is quoted as saying.
It was no surprise when Derenle Edun announced them as winners for performing Artistes Category.
In the modelling category, Emesiobi Dwelling and Kelvin Nnaji were declared the winners. Emesiobi was a particularly inspiring story. Having contested in Season2, 3, & 4 in Port Harcourt and Calabar. She said, “I won’t stop participating until I am picked. They would get tired of seeing me.” Her resilience and commitment to improvement finally paid off.
In the fashion designers category powered by Masters of Style, Canoe and Imperial leather, Ekene and Benedict were picked for their creativity and skill.
One of the contestants who could not hold her excitement was quoted saying, “Participating in Dare2Dream Season 5 has helped shape my life and I believe that I am better positioned for future challenges. I promise to keep pushing till I get to where I want to be because I dare to win.”
