The Communication Director of Zylofon Music, has finally reacted to suggestions that the label has signed a record deal with Akoo Nana.

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, the Communication Director of Zylofon Music, has finally reacted to suggestions that the label has signed a record deal with Akoo Nana.

The "Mi Yadaw" hitmaker was reported to have been announced by the CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah, as a new signee to his label during his recent tour in Kasoa.

After the announcement, fans went on social media to call out the label for not publishing or confirming Akoo Nana's deal via any of their social media channels.

But, reacting to this, Arnold has said his boss' statement was misinterpreted.

He told Zylofon FM in an interview on Monday (July 23) that that the CEO's statement was misinterpreted, stressing that Akoo Nana has been offered a management deal; not a record deal.

"Our CEO Nana Appiah Mensah’s deal was very emphatic but a lot of people didn’t take notice of it. He said Zylofon Music after some deliberations are lending Akoo Nana a three-year management deal. The catch word here is lending, which is proposing or granting Akoo Nana a three-year deal.

So officially, Akoo Nana has not been signed to Zylofon Music yet. A proposal has been thrown to Akoo Nana now, based on those decisions that were made. When the acceptance comes in, that’s when we can consider it as a done deal and really agree on the terms and conditions," he said.

He continued: "There’s a difference between a record deal and a management deal. Management deal comprises of only taking care of the artiste’s business, ensuring that you have gigs to play and your publicity is our there.

But when it comes to record deal, it includes recording, promotion, publicity and taking care of the artiste. And what the CEO said was a recording deal and as to if Akoo Nana will agree to accept it is also a different issue."
