Nana Appiah Mensah, Becca and Kwesi Arthur downplayed fashion and style at the BET Awards Cocktails and coins.
The 2018 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards was commenced by the Cocktails and coins powered by Menzgold prior to the main event which took place on Sunday (24th June) at Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles.
We were hoping for some stunning appearances from our Ghanaian celebrities who were present at this year’s BET Awards just like Hollywood celebrities manage to win our attention every time with their top-notch style choices at these events.
Unfortunately, they made the worse fashion statements at the Pre-Bet Event powered by Menzgold.
Pulse.com.gh brings you 3 poor fashion statements from Ghanaian celebrities at the 2018 Pre-BET Event.

1. Nana Appiah Mensah
It would be only appropriate to start with the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah. Just so you know, Menzgold was the official sponsor of the BET Cocktails and Coins event.
We are all aware of his ‘not-to-much’ fashion sense so we obviously didn't expect him to make an appearance that would get us jaw dropped.
Neither did we think he would literally hit below the fashion belt with all the money he has but surprisingly, we were entirely clueless with his ‘tailcoat’ look.
The tailcoat look was not a bad choice but the only fashion mishap was it's styling . The cutaway section of the coat should have been a bit longer to cover his tacked-in shirt and belt .
He could have simply avoided fashion critics made his way with a waist coat or a waist band under the tailcoat to give him the perfect dress coat look. Sadly, the absence of these made him look more of a magician or perhaps a director of an orchestral concert.

2. Kwesi Arthur
It’s sad how we justify the bad fashion statement by Ghana’s only nominee for this year’s BET Awards with his genre of music anytime he downplays fashion. Doing street hip pop or trap music is never a reason enough to look unconventional like he always does.
Kwesi Arthur was sighted in photos wearing a summer-like top, grey jeans with a black footwear as though he was a Legon student going for lectures. Sorry to say but this was entirely substandard.
3. Becca
For a style influencer like Becca who knows fashion and style better than most people do. This look of hers was a total thumps-down. We all know the suit and pants fashion is in vogue. It now stands as one of the classy and elegant trends by most female celebrities here and beyond.
Yvonne Okoro nailed a similar look at the Dumelo’s wedding, Joselyn also did same at this years Vodafon Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and the most talked about now by American musician, Beyonce in her ‘Ape Shit’ music video.
Becca is undoubtedly one of the curvy celebrities in Ghana, but her over-sized 'Coat Vien as named by Patapaa' failed to make her stand out on the red carpet.
Just a simple stylish rope belt would have brought some funk to her look.
No offence but her hair style did not compliment her look at all. Sometimes it is better to take risk. Playing it simple did not help Becca at all. Her hair style made her look more like a nun than the sassy musician she is.
