After midweek matches in Europe, these are the top six games to look out for this weekend.
After the midweek Champions League and Europa League, action resumes in various domestic leagues across Europe, here is a list of matches to keep you entertained this weekend (April 6 -9).
Saturday, April 7
1. Everton vs Liverpool (Premier League) 12:30 PM
Not many games in football come as close in excitement as a merseyside derby at Goodison Park at lunchtime on Saturday.
For Everton there is nothing to lose, at least they won't get relegated this season, while Liverpool's 3-0 win over Manchester City would count for little when the game kicks off.
As a football follower a derby match between Liverpool and Everton provides you the atmosphere of a lifetime while you sit down and enjoy your match.
2. Celta Vigo vs Sevilla (La Liga) 3:15 PM
Two attacking teams, two attacking coaches and plenty attacking players on display when Sevilla travel to face Celta Vigo.
Defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek should make this tie interesting as Vincenzo Montella’s men aim to bounce back for the return leg.
Its sixth against seventh and with places for Europe still up for grabs, both sides should still be up for it, sit down and enjoy.
3. Manchester City vs Manchester United (Premier League) 5:30 PM
When Sir Alex Ferguson called the blue half of Manchester "the noisy neighbors” United were the dominant force in the city and England.
His retirement has however set Manchester United a few steps behind their rivals, who have the chance to win the league title in front of their home fans against United.
Forget the 3-0 loss to Liverpool, City are a different kettle of fish in the league, this is definitely the game of the weekend,
Sunday, April 8
4. Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid (La Liga) 3:15 PM
Real Madrid welcome Atletico Madrid to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for the Madrid derby which could be a possible crowning ceremony for league leaders Barcelona should Atletico lose.
Diego Simone and his troops need all three points to maintain pressure on Barcelona on top of the table, but since the start of the new year Madrid have turned a corner and are cruising in the Champions League.
Regardless of the potential outcome, there will be enough attacking talents on display.
5. Chelsea vs West Ham United (Premier League) 4:30 PM
Recent weeks have been difficult for Chelsea supporters, out of the Champions League and after a 1-3 defeat to Tottenham, and most likely won't qualify for next season's Champions League.
Antonio Conte’s League win last season is a now a thing of the past, regardless life could be much harder if they lose another London derby to a relegation-threatened West Ham side.
Could a thriller or a boring show, but it is worth keeping an eye out for especially for neutrals.
Monday, April 9
6. RasenBallsport Leipzig vs Bayer Leverkusen (Bundesliga) 7:30
The match between Leipzig and Leverkusen should be an interesting tie especially with a Champions League spot at stake.
Leipzig has a one-point lead over Leverkusen as both sides continue to fight for a place in Europe next season.
For lovers of German football, this is the game to watch.
