The Police Service Commission has promoted 18 senior police officers. The beneficiaries include AIG Agboola Oshodi-Glover in charge of Zone 11, Osogbo, who is now a Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
The commission also elevated the Commissioner of Police, Administration, Force Headquarters, Ghazzali Mohammed and Peace Abdallah, former Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command and currently, CP, Force Intelligence Bureau, Force Headquarters, to Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
A statement on Friday in Abuja by the commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, said the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, DCP Ibrahim Magu; DCP Administration, Kaduna State Command, Ebere Onyeagoro; and DCP Maritime, Lagos, DCP Moshood Gbolarumi, were promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police.
The police also promoted one Assistant Commissioner of Police to DCP, nine Chief Superintendents of Police to ACPs, one Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police, one Assistant Superintendent of Police to Deputy Superintendent of Police and one Inspector to ASP.
Chairman of the commission, Dr. Mike Okiro, congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to rededicate themselves to the service of their fatherland.
He gave the assurance that the commission would continue to pay attention to their basic entitlements.
