Whenever I see old persons hawking on the street or labouring to work on something, many thoughts surface on my mind.
At some points in our lives, we should think and reason how have people been surviving in this nation especially in our immediate environment where you know there is a missing role of the government at the grassroots level.
They are the closest to the people what transformation has been made so far at the grassroots
Poor getting poorer.
Agreeably, they are the closest to people at the grassroots but we see this closeness as mere misfortunes. The percentage of the poor is huge and massive and in a very excessive force to wake up in a day to be wiped off. We are not born for all time hard labour. In this nation both the past and present inordinate management and poor governance have its way to dominate us.
Desperation.
At the level of being desperate to survive, parents and guardians send their wards or anybody under them to hawk on streets and highways. It's saddening and dangerous in all forms and yet we still smile at this sorrow.
Even the old are not left behind in this hawking. Whenever I see old persons hawking on the street or labouring to work on something, many thoughts surface on my mind. All for survival. who are those to fight for these people? Where are those to rescue? What could be their comfort?
Whichever it is, I do feel passionate and it’s a worriment of the mind for me. The society is an headache to itself and people are frustrating to the system.
System Failures.
Hard work should be celebrated, hard labour should be compensated. Government will always remain what we are complaining about, they can’t satisfy everyone, to them their pocket is more important than the masses, only on rare occasions would we witness a slight change.
I do not want to rest in my writing but considering the fact that what will be will be no matter what. Well! my advice is this;
-
we should always give the best in whatever we do
-
The Oga’s (boss) should appreciate their hard workers with good attitude and in proper way.
-
The Society should also do well to those who values for betterment and progress is real.
-
Do every good you can do. Put a smile on someone who can never repay you, and light a candle of hope in dying souls.
-
Be supportive to worthy ideas.
-
Make life pleasant for everyone around you, cloth the naked and comfort the distressed if you can.
-
Give to the needy.
In conclusion government must continue to make better living conditions, safety of life and properties a priority and not an option.
May the lord help us
Thank you!
