PANDEF rally was non-political—Youth leader

By Emem Idio

YENAGOA—Youth wing of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has described as shameful, mischievous and a calculated attempt to rubbish the good intention of Niger Delta leaders, the assertion that the historical rally by the group in Bayelsa State, was for selected Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members.

Reacting to the insinuation in some quarters that the rally was pro-PDP, the youth leader of PANDEF and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Mr Famous Daunemigha, said the body was a congregation of Niger Deltans, irrespective of party affiliation, tribe or creed.

He said:  “First, it is very important to enlighten Nigerian readers and the APC that I am a proud member of APC and a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, since the days of ANPP and CPC.

“Therefore,  it is very misguided and misplaced for anybody  to describe that historical rally as PDP elders rally on restructuring. Also it is very important to enlighten that restructuring is a key item in our party’s manifesto and I am in total support of it and I, therefore, strongly advise all those who think otherwise to retract their unguided and abusive statement.”
