My opinion on the Dapchi girls is viewed basically from two angles. First, is that the girls have just returned from some sort of political picnic sponsored by the APC and closed clique or cabal, as they are called within the FG with the unapologetic consent of the President.
It was a supersonic statecraft that has gone counterproductive. Second, as a political scientist, my observation dares to critique the issue of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The way and manner the terrorists mounted their Hilux vans with flags consciously hoisted on them and flagrantly enjoying encomiums from a crowd of cheerleaders, leaves much to a rational mind. What it means is that the Nigerian state has granted the terrorists a recognition status befitting a state. It is an open shame; there is now an Boko Haram state within the Nigerian state.
In the end, the Dapchi girls are just pawns in the chess game. The effect will be felt in sentimental mobilization of votes especially from the vulnerable north, while Boko Haram remains the Alibi for continued negotiations.

The negotiated release of the Dapchi girls is the sweetest news one can wish for, even though we must condemn the abduction in the first place due to some laxity in our security.
What this shows is that President Muhammadu Buhari knows what to do as regards handling very delicate security matters.
Terrorism is a global menace and no government can be 100 percent capable in curbing it. So embarrassing situations like the mass abduction of 110 little girls may occur sometimes, the issue would be how the leader handles the situation and that president Buhari has displayed.

I think APC is a big shame. It’s so glaring they arranged the whole thing. And now I think we have PDP Boko Haram and APC Boko Haram. If not, why were the remaining Chibok girls not released too. However, I don’t think APC will lose credibility among their core base because the base is made up of those benefiting from the APC led government.

I saw the natives of Dapchi in one of the dailies waving at terrorist as if they were liberators and heroes. What this shows is that the people have lost faith in this regime. This government has lost control of everything it should be in control of. The people of this country have developed a numb feeling to extreme hardship. Nobody feels pain anymore, because it has become part of us.

The Dapchi incident seem to be a blockbuster movie to Nigerians. The plot- Boko Haram kidnapped the girls, a top government functionary recently said the girls would soon be released, almighty Boko Haram returned the girls back to Dapuchi. The biggest suspense is saying that no ransom was paid! Where are we as a nation?
