The school management says any lecturer found selling marks to students or force them to buy textbooks will be severely punished.
The Delta State Polytechnic management has vowed to start taking a severe disciplinary action against any staff member that extorts money from students of the institution.
The institution made the warning on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in a statement made available to newsmen.
According to the Eagle Online, the management regretted that despite previous warnings, some staff members were still collecting illegal fees from the polytechnic students.

The statement reads in part:
Management has over the years condemned this ugly development which tends to portray the polytechnic in bad light before the public.
The management reminded such staff that it was an offence to coerce students to buy textbooks from lecturers or their agents or demand money or any other gratifications from them.
Lecturers who sell marks to students will be punished
The statement also states that any lecturer found “selling marks” to students for tests, assignments or examination would be severely sanctioned.
The Polytechnic management, however, urged the students to report any act of exploitation by any staff to the authority for prompt action.
Delta State Polytechnic was established in November 2012 and the school runs a multi-campus system as it has three campuses located in Ogwashi-Uku, Ozoro, and Otefe-Oghara.
