Champions League: Twitter users came for Chelsea, Courtois, Conte after 3-0 loss to Barcelona

Chelsea were handed a football lesson by Lionel Messi and his teammates

Twitter users trolled Antonio Conte and Thibaut Courtois following Chelsea's 3-0 loss to Barcelona in their round of 16 UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday, March 14.

After a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, Barcelona upped their game at the Camp Nou which left many Chelsea supporters unhappy with the performance on the night.

 

Courtois at fault?

Lionel Messi scored through the legs of  goalkeeper Courtois twice and Chelsea fans attacked the Belgian, accusing him of a poor performance.

The Chelsea supporters were not impressed with his attitude on the night, Coutois who is regularly compared to Manchester United shot stopper David DeGea was the man Chelsea fans were least impressed with.

A disgruntled supporter dismissed the comparisons with DeGea as he stated that it is insulting.

He said, "Remember when people compared Thibaut Courtois to David de Gea? Insulting."

While other supporters just made fun of the 25-year-old after an embarrassing night.

 

Lionel Messi gained more admirers after 100th Champions League goals

After being crowned World Player of the Year five times Lionel Messi still has a few football critics, some of which had pointed to his inability to win a game for Barcelona against Chelsea.

The Argentine superstar was at his imperial best on wednesday night with two well taken goals and an assist.

Some sections of the 'Anti-Messi' were even impressed with the majestic performance by the 30-year-old who scored his 100th goal in the competition.

 

Antonio Conte to leave at the end of the season?

Antonio Conte was applauded for leading Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first season , however his second season in charge has been a shadow of the former.

Chelsea are way behind in the title race, five points behind Liverpool in the Champions League race and after a defeat to Barcelona in Chelsea fans expressed their displeasure at the Italian manager.

 

While some insisted that Conte stayed on for another season.

 

The game generated much reactions on Twitter as ‘Antonio Conte’, ‘Messi’, ‘Barcelona’, ‘Fabregas’ ‘Chelsea’, ‘Willian’ and ‘Courtois’ are the dominating trending items on the social media platform.
