Musa netted CSKA Moscow's second goal as they stunned Lyon at home.

Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa was on the scoresheet as CSKA Moscow won 3-2 at Lyon to progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

CSKA Moscow lost 1-0 at home in the first leg, but the Russian side shockingly stunned last season semi-finalists Lyon ending the Ligue 1 club's hopes of reaching May's final at their own Groupama Stadium.

Aleksandr Golovin put CSKA Moscow in the lead but Maxwel Cornet equalised for the host.

Europa League goal for Musa

Musa who just returned to CSKA Moscow on loan from Leicester City put the Russian side back in the lead on the hour mark before Pontus Wernbloom made it 3-2 on aggregate.

Mariano Diaz gave Lyon hope, but CSKA held on to progress on away goals.

With the score 1-1 and Lyon still leading 2-1 on aggregate, Musa netted in the 59th minute, getting on to a low cross from the right to finish past the goalkeeper.

The Nigeria international was impressive in the game and could have scored earlier from a couple of chances.

This is Musa’s first competitive goal since he returned to CSKA Moscow on loan from Leicester City in January.
