Super Eagles: President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates for CHAN semi-final win over Sudan


President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Super Eagles for progressing to the final of the CHAN.

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their semifinal win over Sudan which booked them a place in the final.

The Eagles defeated Sudan 1 - 0 to book a place in the final of the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.
The president who was pictured watching the Eagles quarterfinal game while at the 30th African Union Summit at Addis Ababa posted a message on his official Twitter handle,
which said, "Congratulations to the home-based Super Eagles on their CHAN semi-final victory over Sudan tonight. Millions of Nigerians are rejoicing with you tonight, and eagerly looking forward to the final on Sunday. We are proud of you!"

Other reactions

Football loving Nigerians and other high profile personalties also reacted to the Super Eagles progression to the final.
Former Vice president and PDP chieftain Atiku Abubakar congratulated the Super Eagles on their hard fought victory.
In a message posted on his Twitter handle Atiku revealed he was happy with the victory.
He said, "Happy that against all odds, our @NGSuperEagles have made it to the finals #CHAN2018. We can learn from their success - proof of what can happen when we are united, focused and committed."

Also, Senate President and owner of ABS football club posted on his Twitter handle to congratulate the Eagles.
He said, "Congratulations to our home-based @NGSuperEagles on their historic win against Sudan tonight in the #CHAN2018 Semi-Final. The whole nation is proud of your success and we will be rooting for you on Sunday night!"
The Super Eagles are to face hosts Morocco in the final of the African Nations Championship on Sunday, February 4.
Morocco vs Nigeria  at the Complexe Mohammed V , Casablanca (7:00, 8:00 Nigerian time).
