16 UK universities offer scholarship to Nigerian students

One of the representatives of the universities promise to give Nigerian students easy access and admission into any NCUK university in the UK.

16 universities in the United Kingdom have reportedly visited Abuja to express their willingness to continue facilitating Nigerian students' quest for qualitative education in the UK.

The universities under the umbrella of the Northern Consortium of United Kingdom Universities (NCUK) are also reported to have slashed their fees by half to continue their over five-year partnership with Brookstone Schools (now Brookstone International Foundation Centres) in Abuja and Port-Harcourt.

Representatives from the UK universities present during the visit include Universities of Aston, Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Huddersfield, Kent, Kingston, Leeds and Manchester, Salford and Sheffield.

While addressing the visitors, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Education, Hon. Zakari Mohammed collaboration by the NCUK and Brookstone has given unprecedented opportunities to Nigerian students to study in various schools in the United Kingdom.

Also speaking on the advantage of studying in the NCUK Brookstone Centre, Mr. Andrew Straughan,  the Market Development Manager said the foundation will offer Nigerian students easy access and admission into any NCUK university in the UK.

He said, “In Nigeria, we have helped over 30,000 international students gain access to university education in Uk. Of those over 9,000 are from Nigeria. The unique opportunity with Brookstone is that you can stay in Nigeria for one year before going to the UK to complete your university studies''.

You will recall that the Dutch and the French embassy recently wooed Nigerian students to come and study in their universities.
