You don't realize you have spent so much on your social life until you are on the verge of becoming broke.
Are there ways to have an enjoyable social life and still be able to save while doing so?
Having a bubbly social life can creep into your finances. Hanging out with friends, going to concerts, seeing late night movies can be all nice but they might have a negative financial impact on your income.
You don't realize you have spent so much on your social life until you are on the verge of becoming broke.
Here are five ways to save while you still have a social life
1. Eat before going out
Eating at restaurants can be quite expensive, so you can eat at home before you go out to dinner with your friends.
This would help you save cost when you eat out because you really do not have to eat so much again.
You could also tell your friends you won't be able to make it to breakfast, lunch or dinner and you'll meet them later in the day. This way you won't spend eating out.
2. Have fun at home
If the idea of spending so much money to have fun with your friends doesn't go down well with you, you can come up with an idea of hanging out indoors with your friends.
You can come up with a plan to have a movie or game night at your place with food and drinks to make it more interesting.
This would really cut down expenses and you still have a nice social life.
3. Offer to drive
You know your friends might get a little-wasted while on a night out. You can offer to chauffeur them around as they go from bar to bar as long as they fuel your car.
This means you won't be spending much on drinks because you'll be the one driving them around and no one can force you to drink because you are the driver for the night and you need to get all of them home safe.
You also get to be in the company of your friends.
4. Look for other ways to have fun
You don't have to spend money to have fun with friends.
You can ask your friends to take a stroll with you or go to the park, while you guys just have fun chatting and catching up on the good old days.
There are so many alternative things you can do for fun instead of spending money doing so.
5. Keep Yourself in Check
You need to find time to hang out with friends. You don't have to avoid all the hang out because you want to save.
